Coat Type:
Due to the Goldendoodle being a mix between a Golden Retriever and a Standard Poodle, the coat types may vary depending on parentage.  Some coats will be more like golden retriever fur and some will be more like Poodle fur.  Generally, the coat is a mixture of the two and is on average 4 – 7 inches long when ungroomed.  Many people choose a Goldendoodle because of their coat as they ususally (not always) shed less than retrievers and have been known to do well for people with dog dander allergies.  Clipped Goldendoodles are generally groomed several times a year.

Temperament / Behavior:
Goldendoodles are very intelligent dogs and make a great family companion.  They are very devoted to family and are friendly with adults, children and other pets, as well as with strangers.  Due to their social nature, Goldendoodles do best around people and will likely find themselves getting into trouble when left alone.  They are very eager to please and easy to train.

Goldendoodles are moderately high energy dogs and most of them love to swim.  They can be city dogs or farm dogs and are highly social.  As with any dog, some activity level is required whether it be a romp in the yard or a daily walk if no yard is available to them.
